Our Manchester branch support 5th Bolton Scouts Group

This month the team at the Manchester branch have provided free fire and security servicing to the 5th Bolton Moorland Scouts, Cubs and Beavers Group.

The Group Scout Leader Christopher Heywood is the brother of engineer Jason, and the Manchester branch jumped at the chance to support.

Jason serviced the fire extinguishers, fire alarms and emergency lighting as a voluntary donation to the organisation.

5th Bolton Scout Group provide excellent support to young people in the local community providing skills for life and a place to call home from the age of 6 right up to becoming an adult volunteer.

The Group itself predates 1954 and has met in various locations before finding its permanent home on the current site in Heaton near Bolton.

The building they have today is the result of hard work and dedication of past leaders and helpers, gaining lottery funding and personally helping to build these first-class facilities.

Jackson Fire & Security are proud to support the fire and security maintenance of this building, providing a significant cost-saving during a difficult time for the voluntary sector.

Paul Hogg, Manchester branch director, said: “We are uniquely positioned to help the charity sector with their building maintenance through the services we can offer.

It’s essential for the voluntary sector to remain fire safety compliant and by providing this as a community donation, it’s one less thing for them to worry about.”

Christopher Heywood, Group Scout Leader, said: “We would like to say a big thank you to Jackson Fire & Security for their help and support with all our fire and security needs at our group headquarters.

It has helped significantly with reducing the running costs of our HQ. The money we would have spent on the fire and security servicing can be put into giving more young people opportunities in the big outdoors.”
